mini comic + marriage !

Tue Feb 10, 2009, 9:06 PM
I'm back again deviant art, but I'm not the same person! I got married. Yes, Raighne Hogan became my husband on our third year anniversary. It's been a month since we tied the knot, but we're still so thrilled. We took the day off yesterday to go on a dinner/movie date (Coraline!). We felt like we were traveling in another city it was so amazing to relax and run around as husband and wife.

Today is less fun however! Back to the grind! We are in our studio, and Raighne is formatting and printing my first mini comic "Bigfoot + Manny". Ha ha ha, it is torture and it is all my fault. I made some of the pages the wrong sizes and proportions on the computer. With Raighne's corrections, it is slowly printing out. Wonderful, wonderful. But I am terrified to read it. What if it doesn't make any sense?

I will find out when I begin selling it on Feb 21 at the Walker Art Center's Multiples Mall: A Bookish Fair and from the online comics reviewers when I mail out review copies. You know, I always thought that getting a bad review would be the worst thing ever! Like that Richard Dryfeus movie where he plays Richard the III as a gay man and it flops and he gets drunk and throws himself around. I always imagined myself just like that scene, throwing myself around on my bed and hitting the headboard in the dark. But no actually that is not the worst. The worst is not getting any reviews at all!!!!!

One other thing that has changed about me, deviant art! I have started knitting and crocheting. It is pretty neat, I made my first crocheted amigurumi Teddy Bear but I changed the colors so that he looks like the devil. Eek, I hope my mother-in-law still likes it. It's a surprise for her! I also knitted a scarf for my grandma. But I ran out of the good yarn so it is a little weird. This is all o.k. I think I want to be a flawed fiber-artist. I like making mistakes. They're funny.

  • Eating: wish I was eating a big fat cookie
  • Drinking: H2O

Hello Meghan ^^ :)
It's lovely to hear from you! :D As you know I've read your journal about your move to your blog as your primary art to Internet base, but I just wanted to thank you again for the favourite on my 'Moody Smoke' piece and thank you again for your lovely and encouraging comment :)
